FONTAINEBLEAU Intimate Landscape

€65.00

Foreword by Bruce Barnbaum

This book focuses on my discoveries in the forest of Fontainebleau as well as my personal and artistic evolution through it.

The forest of Fontainebleau is known for being the cradle of French landscape painting. First the Barbizon painters and then the Impressionists, painted in Fontainebleau from 1830 to 1875. For 4 years I have literally and figuratively walked in their footsteps, photographing this open-air museum in a very personal and expressive way.

The more I spent entire days photographing in the forest, the more I experienced some of the best things life can gift: peace, awe and inspiration. It is these feelings that I strive to convay through the pages of this book.

The 180 pages are filled with 137 color photographs and 10 articles on the history of art, photography and nature.

This superbly self-produced book presents an almost musical series of landscapes created in the forest of Fontainebleau, in the footsteps of the Barbizon painters who surveyed it in the 19th century. In his own subtle way, the Italian renews this eternal motif, peppering the work with various essays on art.
